June is the month of Father's Day. Think of Jesus' relationship to His Heavenly Father. In the gospels, Jesus often refers to God as "My Father." After Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead, He showed Himself to Mary Magdalene and said to her "go to My brethren and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father and to My God and your God." Wow...through Jesus, He made a way for God to be our Father too. In Romans, Paul tells us that "we have received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out "Abba, Father" (Abba means Papa in Hewbrew-term of endearment). There is nothing that compares to the love that our Heavenly Father has toward us.
